Launched in 2008 with two vessels in Europe, the Australian line now operates a fleet of 16 luxury river ships in Europe and Southeast Asia. For 2018, Scenic partnered with National Geographic to launch National Geographic-branded river cruises. The river cruise line also introduced sailings on Egypt's Nile River for the first time in 2018. Scenic owns the lower-priced boutique river cruise brand Emerald Waterways, which has seven vessels in its European fleet.
