Southwest operates more than 4,000 weekday departures during peak season and flies to 99 destinations in the U.S. and 10 foreign countries. The carrier worked throughout the year on obtaining regulatory approval for planned Hawaii flights in 2019 and announced that initial Hawaii routes are to include flights from Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego and San Jose, Calif. Southwest also said it will offer intraisland Hawaii service. Among the carrier's 2018 route introductions were five-times-daily service between Nashville and Atlanta and daily Cincinnati-Denver service.
